Quod Sum Eris

Dark is the specter, shadowy images form in this tomb
Early is the mourn, long and dreary is the gloom
Anonymous now are you as well, cradled, nestled in
Death and the darkest fall, as our fate now begins

"I am what you will be" -Anonymous Roman tombstone

This last part was updated and added for P.D.'s Contest: "Your (OWN) favorite poem"

This is my favorite poem that I've written for a few reasons. First, the title is written in Latin, a favorite language of mine and translates to the quote written at the end of the poem. Second, it is my feelings about how death equalizes us all and we all start fresh on a new journey. Last, I think I really captured a desolate feeling of how an anonymous tomb is, as the spirit of the one resting is long gone but the body rests in peace.

Thanks nette! Wrote this one for the My Favorite Quote contest by Walayee Whitlock. I think that is the first time I've ever enthralled someone with my poetry, at least that I've been told. Thanks again for the wishes :)
