Quiver

"Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them..." - Psalms 127: 3-5a

The first quiver
    Like a feather touch
Makes her shiver
    She loves her child much

A gift of God
    That is her baby
Nothing is flawed
    It’s a boy, maybe

His subdued kicks
    She quivers with love
As time slow ticks
    She can feel his shove

Now, she holds him
    And feels his quiver
She sings a hymn
    Praising her Giver

{A mother's feelings when she feels her baby move for the first time, and later when she holds her newborn}

Spoken with a mother's "quiver" of love, Jo. Love the repetition of the theme word throughout. It really enhances the meaning of the word. Congratulations and high fives! Blessings.

Hi Jo, We chose the same word. However, I like how you used “ quiver.” As a mother, I can relate to this poem very much. I found your write to be moving and heartfelt. Best wishes in the contest. Have a great day:-) Alexis

There is no better feeling for a mother than to hold her newborn for the first time. Well written Jo and good luck. Tom

Beautiful beyond compare. It touched my heart. Reminded me of my pregnancy and the first time I held my child.
