Quill In My Hand
My eyes watch as thoughts swirl onto parchment;
I live now yet know that I lived back then,
When honor was not just a dictionary word.
This time traveler mind which has witnessed centuries.
Never having needed an alibi because I've been there;
Saw Jesus on the mount and at moment of last breath,
Now still living in that glorious moment of His next.
He has embraced my thoughts to this very day.
My vision has seen millions of babies never taking even one.
A silent heartbreak holocaust that goes on and on and on;
Sacrificed for the right of a choice that dies at eternity.
I've watched as so much innocence is robbed from this earth.
The truth is all that my brain has ever sought to find.
Selfish comforts failing in the face of true reality;
Yet mortality will continue its greed of personal flesh,
While the ones who've hardly known it wonder from heaven.

"A poem to me is the essence of any thought,
Being built from its foundation into tower scraping sky.
It can fly like no other bird to places never seen,
Even spaceships can only dream of taking its place."
