Notes About The Poem

QUIET WINDOW

The painting shows a narrow window,
morning light pooling on the sill
like water held in a shallow bowl.

A single curtain lifts slightly,
its edge caught in a breeze~
I can almost hear movement through the room.

On the table below,
a small clay cup waits in shadow,
its rim touched by a thin line of gold.

And in that soft intersection
of light and stillness,
something in me pauses~
as if the quiet inside the canvas
has reached out
and found its echo in my chest.
