Quiet Street, Deep Dark, Haunting Sounds

Quiet street, deep dark, haunting sounds

On my feet, torch in hand, nothing found

Fighting cries, soldiers die, battleground

Move down the street, past all asleep, field found

No sight, dark of night, eerie feeling all around

Hear horses cry, blades collide, mud splash in bloody tide, death found

Smell burning piles, flesh in the wild, sparks hitting armour shields, these killing fields.

Moon beams shine, silhouettes of men and beasts who have died,

A slaughtered history cry of soldiers last night alive.....I have found.
