Quicksand

my muscles relax as I seep into my own
an atmosphere of sombre covers me in warmth
my mind rests at gratitude for the
comforting embrace
memories of guilt and shame shape my reality
urgency rushes over me like a growing tide
my muscles tighten, anticipating a nearing future
the tide closes in and I am surrounded by an ocean of my own sorrow.
