Quicksand

Damn, this heart on my sleeve
Causes trouble with you every time
I get sucked in deep
Familiar tears, I weep
No matter how many times I try

This time, I'll dodge the sinkhole
Knowing full well, that's not who I am
Further and further, I go
Till you you’ve swallowed me whole
Drowning me in emotional quicksand
