Questions Unanswered

have you ever thought about the stars-
when the shadows fall
have you ever thought about the sun,by far-
the brightest one of all
when I lift up my eyes, there are blue skies-
and I don't know why
questions unanswered, they fill up my mind

have you ever thought about the clouds-
on a summer day
sailing on across the sky,my oh my!-
I hope it stays that way
like a cottonfield rolling on high-
and I don't know why
questions unanswered, they fill up my mind

and have you ever thought about the trees-
only then to find
autumn creeping like a thief,he smiles-
then he steals them blind
as the wind whispers by on the sly-
and I don't know why
questions unanswered, they fill up my mind

have you ever thought about the sand-
in an hourglass
every minute of the day slips away-
"til the time is past
and so we arrive, live our lives then we die=
but I don't know why
questions unanswered, always fill up my mind
