Quarter Past Three

Now that the task has been done
and victory has been won
I am waiting for you to ask me to come
Now that the task has been won
And the battle has just began
I am waiting for you to take me over
Now that the task is done
And the devil is on the run
I want to salute you with a glass of white rum
It is time for me to take my leave
And move to a higher degree
The job is already complete
And you must lock down the projects
and come
The bearer is running around the town
With his beautiful daughter dressed in a gown
Mr. Taylor the city bearer
Is always running around with hands on paper
There is so much you can do
When you have the handle at the table
If you had asked me to come
I would have already come
If you had asked me to come
I would have left long ago
If you had invited me to take part in the show
I would have sang a beautiful song to make your heart glow
And make the humming birds elate you with beautiful words
I would follow you to the highest peak Just to listen to you speak
We would have listened to the stream running high
And commune with the sun before it dies
Heaven and earth would dance with glee and the
Sun would have solved this age old mystery
Since you did not asked me to come
I am getting ready to go on the run
And my journey will begin before the sun goes down
I will fly around the East, and enter the Midwest
And cruise around the north, and glide around the south
Then I will make a U-turn around in the East to meet the beast
And unburden my trouble at west minister
Until I figure out what everything is about
I will take a long journey around the world
To filter some of the pent up energy
that is buried inside me
Or I can take a short-cut through the loop
And later we can regroup at the end of the loop
The days are getting shorter
and the sun is getting hotter
But mercy has come to my rescue
with a nice shower of rain before we enter the lane
I have been contemplating for a long time
 about the wisdom of mankind
The very thing that we seek
Are the same things that are already complete
You have the same argument the same disagreement
And you run about with your body and arm that no one can disarm
How much longer do I have to wait?
Before you come and meet me at the gate
Destiny is on the run
and I want to leave before the sun goes down
The trees are standing by
and the clouds are dancing about in the sky
The birds are running around with a message that is profound
Observe, listen and look at the message projected at you
The distraction will give you away so don’t delay
The heaven and the sky will be on the run too
And seas and the mountain will become one
The stars and the moon will dance at midnight
To end this year long tumultuous fight
It is just a quarter past three in the afternoon
And I am humming a little tune
I can hear you shouting out my name
And your voice is just the same
If you had asked me to come
I would have drop everything and come
It is a quarter past three in the afternoon
I am still waiting for you to ask me to come
Don’t delay come before heaven take me away.
