Quarantined

This warm spring day a bright display when souls desire to run and play, but we must stay six feet away to save our health from disarray. I cannot see why this must be; I pray to Thee, please set us free. I long to trace lines of her face, and feel the touch of her embrace that makes the pace of heartbeats race, but we must always keep our space. I cannot see why this must be; I beg of Thee, please set us free. I’m so distressed with house arrest; this COVID thing I so detest; a deadly pest, unwanted guest that leaves our weary souls depressed. I cannot see why this must be please hear my plea and set us free.

Very nice capture of situation. Video calls not the same as "trace lines of her face."

It is the most surreal situation John, we are fortunate we can still get out for walks, but not being able to see mum is the hardest thing for me, I can begin to imagine the heartbreak of being in quarantine and not being able to even see a loved one who is in ITU and not going to recover:-( hugs Jan xx

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Jan, I understand what you are going through as my mother is in assisted living and in total lock down. Who would have thought, just six months ago, that we would be living like this today...and will our future ever be the same as the past. Stay safe my friend. Hugs, John

This is very well done, John and the short refrain is perfect for driving home how much we hate what is happening to us these days!

Well written John, the weather is warming up, flowers starting to bloom, all we want to do is get out there, hopefully our prayers will be answered but I fear the world we once knew has gone. So many deaths the world over, I wrote a poem about the Spanish flu and was horrified researching it, never in a million years did I think this would happen again, hope you and yours are OK. Stay safe. Tom

Even though this is our truth right now, my heart lingers in the blessings. (It's who I am) Your thoughts wrap gently around me. We will be set free! I wish to place this in my favorites. Because, I can feel every word in this. ~ Brandy
