Quarantined
This warm spring day a bright display
when souls desire to run and play,
but we must stay six feet away
to save our health from disarray.
I cannot see why this must be;
I pray to Thee, please set us free.
I long to trace lines of her face,
and feel the touch of her embrace
that makes the pace of heartbeats race,
but we must always keep our space.
I cannot see why this must be;
I beg of Thee, please set us free.
I’m so distressed with house arrest;
this COVID thing I so detest;
a deadly pest, unwanted guest
that leaves our weary souls depressed.
I cannot see why this must be
please hear my plea and set us free.
