Qing Ming Festival

(Dedication: For my ancestors) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Quaint mellow tact for Qing Ming thoughts, In memory of kinship grown; Note touch live pact to honour lot, Glimpses we see ancestors known. Mix and mingle with profound touch, Inspired words ring from echoes old; Note old sparkle transcending much, Gather to bring what ritual holds. Feel connection of family, Etch rites that start with attitude; Sense direction as prayers free, Trace with our hearts deep gratitude; Invite our souls to join life's strains, Voice in words brief emotions fond; Attend a whole unbroken chain, Live loss and grief in human bond. Taste old regrets in sad demise, Opt to recall our times well-spent; May we not fret as death claims prize, Blessings to all from heaven's tent. So here we are in prayer chant, Warm our hearts well to live with grace; Endow our stars till life is done, Ending we dwell in time and space; Primal our need to know full well, Indulge our kin with blessings grand; Now and here seed as prayer tells, Good health to win as wise ways tend. Truth wears a face if we but see, Apt asking prays for lovely peace; Choice creams a trace now most happy, Treasure each day of earthly lease. Here by your side we stoop a while, Echoes now reach our thankful hearts; Recall with pride your lovely smiles, Endings now teach when journeys part. Leon Enriquez 15 April 2018 Singapore
