Purrs From the Forest

In a moss filled hole of a rotted stump A lone cat rests curled...soon to give birth Her belly moving rapidly, so full, so plump Cries echo the forest, purrs from her...worth Quintuplet kittens, now roaming the earth Writing Prompt - English Quintain Imagery Poetry Contest Sponsored by Dear Heart 12-26-2019

I adore cats. Most everyone used to have a cat they would call a mouser... but our cats always were beloved just because they were loving. My last cat died two years ago and I still miss him so. I enjoyed your sweet poem Charles. Congratulations on your win! : ) xxoo

Hi Connie, I've had quite a few cats in my life too. In fact, at one time I had 2 dogs and 5 cats (lol) my favorite cat was a black cat his name was "Shadow" he was so cool he would play with my dogs for hours he was the man of the house (lol). So sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty...I'm can see how much you miss him. Hugs Charlie xx

Great story. Interesting that this give line poem ends with five kittens. A lot could be read into this. Great job.

Oop, I meant to type "five line poem," not "give line poem."

You’ve made the rotted stump beautiful...as a child, i watched our first cat give birth, it was something amazing like how you chose quintuplets for the form :)

It's amazing to see birth, especially as a child. I have seen both puppies, kittens and all my children come into this world. Loved every minute of it.
