Purple Heart

I moved out from under,
I bring my own thunder,
I don't cheat myself
I don't self torment

I'll pen my loss
vent the difference
participate life
in mode positive

I'm off the fence
not part of the problem?
part of the solution?

decided for my life,a resolution?
I celebrate my past,
my strength, my courage resides,

I know where I come from
scary, but it's true
I have the scars to remind me,
...the knowing thank God
I am not like you

so here I am with my courage,
my strength, my wisdom, I have
arrived,
took me well over twenty years
of baggage...

the most important decisions
make themselves
...the truth reveals itself

you wounded my spirit,
you did not destroy it,
you are dismissed,
return to hell
