Pure Class

Music was always my great love throughout all my years of living having liked many types in that time even although I couldn't really sing In the past decade of time I've really loved classical so much it's a music that reaches to the depth to effecting the heart with slightest touch To think I loved punk in seventies never believed I would change to this but classical covers such a span of emotional moods full of bliss My favourites cover many types from violin, harp and cello to clarinet, flute and guitar some up tempo to others more mellow It's such a treat to sit quietly to listen to a classic piece reading my favourite poetry such unity entwined wish never cease

Gordon..I like Ravel and Debussy most, But I also like jazz, Latin, New Age, . Music can calm or excite me, I also miss the music of the 1940# I loved that. Poem should have been a POTD. Pangie

Congratulations, and excellent post, Gordon. I love the flow of the words and the impact of the message. I am very proud of you. The descriptive excellence is lovely and sends terrific images. The theme of Musical Class, stands out, and the tone moves the piece down the page with much grace. Great job! Have a fantastic day, and God's richest grace and blessings to you always. –Professor, Ambassador, Dr. Joseph S. Spence Sr. (Epulaeryu Master)!

Gordon, I like this poem. The title says it all. And your description of your reading room listening to music sounds like a perfect way to pass time. Nothing wrong with Talking Heads or Hüsker Dü. However, classical music reaches for a higher plateau in the human experience in my opinion. I've enjoyed the works of Debussy, Vivaldi, Handel, Mozart, Wagner, & Chopin to name a few. Note: I still enjoy The Clash & The Ramones too. -Richard

Hi Richard, Glad you liked it and your taste is so varied like me. My favs are classical along with country, folk and recently Scottish and Irish Gaelic music. I also was into punk in its heyday, Favs were Siouxie and the Banshees, Buzzcocks and Boomtown Rats. Have a great day, Gordon
