Puppet With No Sound

I let you take my smile
And turn it to a frown

I let you take my heart
And throw it on the ground

I let you take the things I’ve done
And make them not so proud

I let you have control of me
Like a puppet with no sound

Today I plan to take control
And turn this frown around

Today I plan to heal my heart
And pick it off the ground

Today I plan to find my honor
And acknowledge to all that I am proud

Today I plan to cut the strings
Of this puppet with no sound.

That's creepy however, I love this poem. A perfect 7. I've never been someone's puppet. The best part of this poem, is knowing you cut all ties :):) Congratulations on having your awesome poem featured on the soups Home Page. Hope you had a wonderful Valentines day. ~SKAT LOVE~

Hello again Janet... I found this poem of yours lyrical. It was like I had to sing it instead of reciting it and the topic is very good. I must say I did enjoy your poem Janet. Thank you Janet - Lindsay

Please welcome me, too. I am featured on the home page THIS WEEK with my poem "Less Deceived", yet only SKAT has come on to that page to congratulate me. I started to send poems in February and feel I should be getting the same welcome as Janet.

Hi Skat, What a nice warm welcome you have sent me. Thank you. I just started writing poetry again and have a long way to go. However, poetry soup and the members seem to challenge me and that is what I need. I love the feedback and hope to learn and grow. Reading and enjoying others poems has been such a blessing. Thank you for being my first friend on poetry soup:) Hugs to you
