Pup Tents

Is a pup tent the result of two grown up tents making out My daddy once told me that, when I was just a young scout Was a liitle suspicious POPS COULD BE QUITE SUPERCILIOUS My apologies my friends, I really didn't mean to shout!

I believe he was right else why would they be called pups as opposed to kittens? i didn't mean to eavesdrop but you are waiting for your friend with a worm on your tongue?
