Punkchewayshun and Spelling

Such a grammar fiend, is this thing called punctuation. A huge plethora of mind numbing aggravation. Commas, periods and parenthesis too; colons and semicolons; what's a writer to do? In spelling, I used to make only straight A's. Now I blow up spell check most every day. I could avoid punctuation; write only Haiku, but I'm no quitter; to myself I must be true. My teacher always told me, "If you can't spell a word, look it up in the dictionary." Silliest thing I ever heard. All the words are there in column after column, but, how to look them up, if you can't even spellum?!

hahaha, I used to wonder the same thing , how to look up a word you can't spell if you can't spell it to look it up?? Great ending on this one, dear. With google now, we can just guess at a spelling and it just shoots the word back at us!! You DO have an unintentional spelling mistake in here. CAn you guess what it is? It's something a person can fall into after a horrible accident and sometimes never wake up from!!

Bah haa haa!!! Coma!!!! Yesterday, Jan was kind enough to point out I had spelled mourn. m o a r n !!! I new something looked funny on that one but I couldn't figure it out! This one completely aluded me! Thank you!! I wonder how many of these errors I have and people just don't mention them.. I wish they would so I can correct them.. Luv to you!.. Arlene

English class was my worst subject in school. I always dreaded getting the homework, because proper grammar was so difficult to understand. However, spelling was my best subject and I was even in the 7th grade spelling bee!.... I loved the clever and humorous title of this poem! A great write, Arlene!

Thanks, sweet Upma. I actually withdrew this one, as the point of the contest was for perfect punctuation and spelling. Duhh!!.. I definitely could use a refresher course in both! Lol
