Pulsating Muse

She visits but she won’t stay long Though where she goes to, no-one knows My words all seem to come out wrong As she departs and takes my prose I like to think I’m saving ink It’s clear in me she does belong My notions won’t form nice neat Rows Was not our symbiosis strong As slow she comes and quick she goes The empty page… It’s all the rage

There is a sense of mystery about this one, Terry. Your muse? A fun read and congratulations for making Emile's winner's list.

Thanks, Jenna. My muse is not a thing or a person, it’s just whatever little collection of grey cells it is that fire off ideas in my head. But ‘she’ has been one cantankerous lady lately, coming and going at her leisure. Hence this poem. Terry

No it’s not just you Terry, You where certainly inspired writing that one, but it needs a better outlet than the soup can offer, try not let it sink into oblivion here, cheers!

It’s funny how when our muse deserts us and we browse our previous ‘works’, we wonder how we ever wrote ‘that’. Or is that just me? Thanks for your very kind comment re ‘No God Of Mine’. I’m not a conceited person but I always felt that that one was Stephen King-esque. Thanks David, Terry.

My muse seems to take a day or two off every once in a while. I surely do miss her and am so happy when she returns.

Now my ‘project’ is done (just need to check over a second proof) I’m hoping I can drag my muse, by the hair, back to her desk and yell, ‘Think Girl!’ Here’s hoping. Thanks, Milt.

My muse is very temperamental, perhaps because she comes from Greek stock, but i did fire her once, and a year later she was back. I think we could do without them at times, having said that I pleaded with her once to cut her holiday short! Always great to read your poems Terry. Hugs, blessings, Jennifer

Thanks, Jennifer, I’d been sensing her absence for quite some time before she seemed to slam the door behind her. Took a bit of a break from poetry by getting involved in er… um… poetry. Weird… but a fact none-the-less. Terry

I think they all abandon us from time to time Terry but when they run out of money they soon come back lol. Tom

Unfortunately, Tom, my muse dwells entirely in my own head so if she runs out of money… It means I’m skint. C’est la vie. Terry
