Puddled Reflections
Throughout my life
I have found myself staring into puddles
A flawless reflection
That one raindrop fuddles
When I was young
I used to yearn for the other side
Perhaps some sort of preeminent override
My mind would stream with thought abound
As current woes would always drown
As I Grew Older
Thoughts thickened akin to porridge
Puddles were forest for my mind to forage
Clarion images would surface clear as day
So fragile one drop of rain could ripple them away
I am now a man
Who has become older in his age
Who can't pass a puddle without becoming engaged
I have no objection
To my affection
With water collection
In retrospection
My last life
Must have been a reflection
Though the average puddle
Is a mere inch or two deep
I'm fully emerged
Every time my mind takes a leap
