Pruning My Soul

I did not know I had a tree
that grows inside my soul.
A tree with over-grown vines,
that needs God's Spirit-filled designs..
I'll trim and cut and prune today,
all negative thinking in my way.

And Satan's weeds, oh, they must go.
They're crowding out good seeds that grow,
like love, joy, peace, long suffering,
gentleness, goodness, and more,. Gal. 5..22
that will make my Soul swell and soar.

And what ever we sow, we also will reap. Gal. 6..9
His word in my heart, His promises to keep.
Lord, cleanse me now of all my sins.
My Soul is yours for Souls to win,
that I may tell others of your love,
and Life Eternal with you above.

lovely write, yes he prunes us, he plants us like trees along a river bank they are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Amen

How nice to hear from you again, njeri. And thanks for liking my recent poem. Telling others about God is one of the reasons I'm on the Soup. If I can bring Him honor in any way, then that pleases me. Blessings, Darlene
