Proudly Tattooed

PROUDLY TATTOOED Proudly tattooed I am for you, I saw you going to have one too, My ink is stained, For I never feigned, To have one alone, we are a crew! Only your eyes will bear on it, And mine on yours, so it is fit, Will we become addicted? O what the heck, it’s predicted, We’ll never see fit to quit! Tattooing is now an adventure, No longer a risky venture, Seek out a tattoo artist, Go have one on your wrist, No longer need a censor. I love the tattoo that I had done, It has been such tremendous fun, Did it hurt, yes it did, So much, I flipped my lid, My darling, love it on your bum! Choose wisely, it is there to stay, The next day, cannot wish it away, The thrill of having this fling, Beats almost anything, No longer an area grey!

I am laughing at this. Great topic since it is in such vogue these days. I don't have one and probably never will, but I seem to be in the minority these days. You are very clever!!!!

Hi Pixie Dust, My tattoos are discreet and tasteful and not anywhere near my face which I agree with you are quite loathsome. I have one on my wrist and one on my ankle, what started off as a fun poem seems to have brought out certain emotions that are not called for in some. Thank you for your lovely comment Pixie love. Poetry Hugs Jennifer

Hi Andrea, I see the idea is teasing you a bit, if you want to and hubby approves, I would go for it! The cutest one is my second one - its a Greek evil eye meant to ward off jealousy and bad thoughts - the tatoo artist did it perfectly! Google greek evil eye. Poetry hugs and kisses, Jennifer.

Hello Jennifer … I guess it's a form of art, and if don't tastefully they look good. It's when being tattooed becomes an obsession that they can appear a tangled mess - nicely written Jennifer - Lindsay

I agree with you Lindsay, some are awful but mine and my hubby's are cute however, I guess just like seeing our shapes changing, we also come to the realization that our Autumn years are not far away. Wanted to be a little daring! Strangely enough my husband is very conservative Poetry wishes Jennifer.

Hi Nette, One of my very close friends organised a henna tattoo for me years ago. Beautiful, but faded too quickly. Then whilst studying for my 2nd degree about 18 years ago, in between running our business and bringing up two boys, my husband suggested we de-stress after my thesis, have a real tattoo and go overseas for a holiday. Somehow the tattoo was put on hold, only to be revived last week - enjoyed the adventure! Thanks for comment - poetry wishes. Jennifer

Enjoyed this light, cute set of Limericks, Jenny. I don't have tattoos, but I have nothing against them, as long as they are not overdone and are artfully presented. Looking forward to seeing your piglets:) ~ Warm regards // paul

An unforgivable Freudian slip Paul, they are two beautiful rosy cheeked baby elephants - too cute for words! I'll soon be up and running with HTML and will post a photo! Less is best when it comes to tattoos. Thank-you for your comment, Warm regards, Jennifer

As we get another year older, we get slightly bolder Rico. Have two tattoos now and no regrets, would have made the same choice yesterday, the day before and the day before that. Has Angelina Jolie got a lot, never really noticed, I suppose us women look at her from a different perspective! Yasou Rico, and poetry wishes, Jenny.

Hi Sunshine Smile, Well I have two cute little baby piggies holding a flower on my wrist now and my Husband has a fish eagle! I also have an evil eye (smallish) on my ankle to ward off bad or evil thoughts, a greek superstition! The one on my ankle hurt! Love, light and poetry hugs, Jennifer

Indeed, choose wisely, Jennifer, as it takes a lot to get rid of a tattoo, though I've heard some can do it. Enjoyed the upbeat, playful nature of your limerick! Hugs, Carolyn

I think the odd one is fine but some take it to the extreme, I've seen someone in town and he has them all over his head and face. Great limericks'. Tom.

The Catholic religion frowns on tattoos and says they "desecrate the body." My sister feared desecration so much that she waited until she was in her 40s to get her ears pierced. When I mentioned I thought a small yellow rose tattoo on my ankle might be nice, she hit the roof.

Yes, I know Tom, some cover their whole bodies, not nice. But this was a dare we lived up, to and had fun doing it! Poetry wishes, Jennifer.

Hi Jennifer, You have penned a string of good limericks. Could you believe that I don't have not one single tattoo? But I always admired them from a far. I figure if I did get one it would be one of my father's or brother's name. Thanks for paying me a visit and wishing me well on my break:-) Alexis

I have one drawn out - a cocky little baby green dragon with a red tam, but to actually do it with needles, um, not at all. I am thinking more PAINTED than inflicted. I admire your poem, but I will not be in line. I am afraid of tattoo needles.

Hi Caren, If you would have asked us last year if the two of us would have a tatooo, I would have probably answered, not on your life - but, 2019 came in with a bang! Poetry wishes, Jennifer.

I enjoyed your limericks with smiles Jennifer. I have seen some fantastic tattoos here in Hawaii. People show a lot of skin. I don't sport any but admire those willing to endure the pain. Great work Jennifer! : ) xxoo

Hi Connie, I think what would be said of us: older and a little batty, we only live once though! I bet there are awesome tattoos in Hawaii, we are in the infantile stages at present, will let all know if addictive, I've hear they are! Poetry wishes, Jennifer.
