now
seen
     & heard
each
  inflection
     injected
with
 a pregnant pause

   accent
 dialect
  & emphasis
brings
 clarity
to thought

voiced alone

words
  once dead
black on white
now rest
  within
the hearer’s ear

once imagined
  sounds
become
a
 unique reality
