Promised Life

“PROMISED LIFE”

You promise life
But how do I hang on?
I strive daily
To make the right choices
Only to see how
I’ve failed you...
One.... More...Time
Yet you forgive me
But again...And again...
When you stretch your arms
Toward me...
I latch on
Like the missing link
That’s been found
When my soul
Takes a deep dive
You meet me at the bottom
Only to pull me out
And lift me higher
I cry out to you
In my own way
And you understand me
For who I am
You have my back
When all else
Has turned against me
You promise life
But how do I hang on?
