Promise Her

Sometimes when girls push you away,
It's because they want you to stay.
She could see you were at bay that day,
So true love was the test she gave,
Hoping you wouldn't give up,
To such a test,
That brought you closer.
Now that she knows the love is true,
Hold her,
She just wants you to be with her.
When she looked into your eyes
Babe,
That was the clue!
Promise her no harms,
Promise her the next day,
And your shoulder for her head to lay

I found some intriguing thoughts here. I like the way it is written. Seldom do I read such good free verse. I have posted a wool-puller's blog in case you have any comments on the contest.
