Promise

If I can see the life ahead of me,
The life ‘round me would never come about.
For days I wish I could be by the sea,
Instead all I can do is scream and shout.
You made a promise that you cannot break,
I cannot understand what you have done.
I wish your love was never a mistake.
My love for you had only just begun.
For years I didn’t know what laid ahead,
I only looked so I could be myself.
How could I ever trust the words you said?
You simply put my love up on a shelf,
How can you live with what you’ve done to me?
For my love shall never again see.
