Prom

She bought a fancy dress, painted her eyes and lips
Getting ready for a date she would not forget
The day spent getting ready, washed and curled her hair
At eight o’clock he picked her up all dressed up in tails

They ate a fancy dinner with friends and had some fun
A night that she would not forget, the night she fell in love
Her date was young and handsome, she knew him many years
Up until that special night they were the best of friends

She sees him in a different light, not just a foolish boy
But a nice young man to share her life for now and ever more
Amazing how life passed them by even though they were so young
The feelings felt that very night they went to senior prom
