Profile In Beauty
we were alone
but I could not squeeze
the trigger that was needed
to place her in my arms
knowing those of great passion
would have done it
in the time it takes to breathe
with isolated footprints
shrouding the sidewalk
a moment that clings like fly paper
the infatuated teen I sorely became
still, I cherished the view
I smiled as she drew
nearer to my front door
alas, it was only
a vertical dream
above the waist
in black, in white
with me waking
moments before
the kissing scene
