Prodigal Son

I looked everywhere but hadn't found it. I thought I hadn't left a stone unturned. Now it seems that I had just been dancing all around it. I ran away but now I have returned. I honestly believed I was an island. For nothing but the ocean did I see. I hadn't realized that I was swimming in God's eyes. That ocean was the love He feels for me. Sometimes I feel like the prodigal son Trying to get back to where I'd been. I saw where I was heading so I got up to run Back into God's open arms again. I searched everywhere for the answers Not knowing they were right there from the start. Now it seems to me that I took too many chances In looking for what lived with in my heart. In the beginning I remember darkness And reaching out, trying to find the light. My soul with in me stirred and I knew my prayers were heard Then with a word He gave me back my sight. It's everywhere around me, it cannot be ignored I just couldn't see it with my eyes. He has loved me from before the moment I was born And He will love me long past when I die. But… Sometimes I feel like the prodigal son Trying to get back to where I'd been. I saw where I was heading so I got up to run Back into God's open arms again.
