Prison Life

Letter
to my
parents -

Time
 hasn't been
kind
to me,

I can't
remember
 when
I was
free -

Locked away
in
this hell,

I've lost
track
of time
spent
with family -

Prison life,
is no
place
to be -

Men
with something
to prove,

fighting
and
killing

to show
that they
ain't weak -

I thank
God
each day,

mama
and
daddy
didn't
forsake
me,

They visit;
put
money
on my
books;

accept
collect calls,
and
send
packages
to me -

If
I didn't
 have
my parents,
I'd be
lost -

Just
another
prisoner,

condemned
to
this den
of
Iniquity -

Since
my
sentence,

I've learned
what
I did wrong
to
get here -

I told
Jesus
when I'm
released
from these
chains,

I won't
 be
back again -

Time
hasn't been
kind to me,

I can't
remember
when I was
free -
