Prints On My Heart
So many wonderful pets,
and love without regrets.
So many special days,
each with unique ways.
So many special moments,
and tears cried in torrents.
Each occasion treasured,
and times carefully measured.
It didn’t matter to me,
what kind of pet they be.
It didn’t matter if they were birds, dogs or cats,
or even hamsters, fish or rats.
Each had a place in our home,
where they did freely roam.
There was plenty food to go around,
and love did abound.
I knew from the start,
each would leave prints on my heart.
