Prince of Pride

Prince of Pride

Winter one
You never flee the cold
But stay boldly on---

Dare the Hawk
into the
     black days of December

Foolish sometimes
   In his bravery
   Lovely always
             mirrors any man adored

Bird on a bender....
Strutting the fjord.

Brilliant blue unending
pearl kissed Head
       Cocked in splendor

Starlit eyes
                   Flashing

            Forward
 moving
                    to a beat hop beat
                                   unheard but to your love

    swiftly now
      a
jay-hop
at a time .

Eager nimble Eager
Sensuous
Flicking tail

Searching
Beat hop beat

Each
snow-step hop step

Woos his lover’s spring songs
          Closer.
Snow
Eyes
Flutter

Fresh-snow blink flutter

Blink once
Blink-twice again

Flawless.
                     Bold and sexy.

Without a doubt--
Blue flame of sky
    You
         dare
           with every
                  blue- brash
                            hop

 Arctic
Cowboy
Sass

Dawn breaks
Waking spirits of the day

Through Black- branched Trees
  the Sun shrieks
with
Magic
Icy Claws

Torches your
Jay
Bird head

                      with Tundra Magic

            Shimmer Sun Shimmer
                  Sapphire Blue Shine

                Cast a deadly shadow
            Spin Shadow Spin
         Spin Around the World
Magic of all Magic called by name

              in Persia
       A Mighty Monarch
   Preening in a Peach Tree
              in the
        Heights of Glory
           The Defiant
      Prince of Peacocks
       Pride his Hubris
       Struck by magic
          Tundra magic
             Tumbles
               Dying
            Screeching
               to the
                Dirt
