Primavera

............. for Kate Somehow it seems colder roll on summer seems to have missed its mark and even as clearest blue the sky is cosseting a chill and so the temperature set itself against my will How does the sun dim and falter although still as bright its warmth in the colours have a slate appeal seemingly to long for the night It is worse, one can fear to hear the birds monotone their simple lacking of chirpy disturbs me with their irritant chatter to fill a space this space reserved for someone who isn’t here It seems to have gotten cold as if springs foot pump on the heartbeat of reviving just isn’t working and primavera for you I have waited all year I toss and turn when the night is too long and no promise is held in a good mornings lemon curse those tiny digital clocks with all their damnably overworked seconds My eyes won’t focus or at least seeing has become a wizard of hocus pocus to be experienced in every vacant moment somehow itinerant in my finger tips to reach for a hand in its place this palm a reserved space for someone who isn’t there What is this perturbation of an otherwise idyllic season and why should summer fall so short of its heralded anticipation somehow it seems to have gotten colder and I remember just days ago everything felt so much warmer
