Prevarication

PREVARICATION why now? said I, with sunrise in bloom, can it not wait for silvery moon? what if I tell her my knee has once more, locked-up with swelling, can't get to the door! viburnum you lovingly bought at the market, must wait one more day, alone on the carpet! the shingles I promised I'd fix by nightfall, must hang snaggly toothed, and with luck, won't fall! your armoire whose foot has cleaved in two, can wait one more day, I'll be in the loo! all through the years, you always would say, "don't put off 'till 'morrow, what's best done today!" there is one last thing, I think you should know, my love for you dear, continues to grow!

This could have been written about me! Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow. Yeah, it's my primary vice. Really! Donna

James, you have such an open, friendly disposition, that when I do not see your comments I scroll and scroll again...your tributes are not only wonderful, but inspiring, ... this loving side of you is in this poem, it has an amazing lyrical virtuousity, and a lightness that hides a profound complication of our age ... a brilliant write, love always, Jim, my friend.
