Pretty Thoughts
Pretty thoughts flow freely in mind
Daydreaming hopes that are so divine.
Feelings soft as worn in silk
And sweet as the freshest milk.
Pretty thoughts bring me to a sea
Of love that just cannot be.
Waves driving my route to desire
Where nothing will ever transpire.
Pretty thoughts are about you
And denying what I know to be true.
You belong to another I admit.
But in fantasy, you and I commit.
Pretty thoughts provide a great solace
Where your arms shield me from life’s malice.
In these confines, you are mine
When disillusion calls, I resign.
