Pretending To Thrive
It’s my obligation
To carry this weight
A communal station
I haul the freight
I tote it around
Day in and day out
It’s why I’m so down
Emotions are stout
Others don’t care
As they sprinkle their vibes
On empaths like me
Pretending to thrive
