Pretending

I hate pretenders
yet I pretend all the time
I fake like I'm happy
I'd do anything not to release
the tears that are nagging
people don't realize
how sad I can get
How lonely this world is
the sky never gets blue
sometimes I don't think
I'll ever make it through
these are hard times
but where is the good rhymes
I spend so much time and energy
trying to convince myself
that this little life of mines
eventually will shine
I can't control this dosage of pain
and i'm prescribed to take a pill everyday
sometimes I don't want get out of bed
with these dark thoughts fumbling
around in my head
I can't prevent this
there's no way to mend it
So for now I just pretend
but it's horrible remaining in this
when you live in a world where
the light bulb never got invented
             It sure is dark....
