Pretend and Pray

You prayed for the first time
But nobody was listening
The shackles around your wrists
The thorns around your heart
What could you have expected
When you broke every law
And turned everyone against you
And here you stand
Before the judge, jury, and executioner
Ready to plead your case
But your deception
Carries the weight of a feather
You prayed for the last time
But nobody was listening
And the burden of your sins
Comes crashing down
It all comes crashing down
When your deception
No longer fools anyone
The biggest fool
Is you
