Predator
Very aware of every curve and fold
of every woman in the room.
He is every man, or most, I've been told
that denies his nature to his doom.
Silently stalking, each woman's response,
calculated, honed by evolution
on a savannah, whose actual absence
has not been noted on primate emotion.
So he stalks and says what he thinks he must.
Reacts as civilized but secretly
imagines quick gain, an amorous thrust
rather than her trust and security.
Evolution played a joke on we males,
if we don't change we are extinct as whales.
