Precious Gem

Shall I compare thee to a rose
And pluck thy petals as my heart desires
While in sweetness thy fragrance grows
Love, like rain doth thou require

My love, this bouquet I send to thee
To be with thee is all I dream
My heart doth rise and fall like waves upon the sea
The beauty of thine essence is highly esteemed

No more be thou uncertain of my love
Thine eyes doth soothe my very soul
My love for thee is higher than the stars above
Doth thou desire to make my lonely heart whole

Thy beauty, like a precious gem, doth shine
I beseech thee, wilst thou be my valentine
