Praying Fervently
Praying* fervently is Scripture-lighted.
Thus, we must be spiritually prompted
Being divinely-led, not foolishly blinded
As to God we’re fully yielded.
Praying ceaselessly demands trust in the Saviour’s omnipotence.
Thus, we must have faith, coupled with persistence
Seeking His presence against own confidence
As to Him we rely with complete dependence.
Praying steadfastly is blessing-laden.
Thus, we must never consider such as a burden
Thanking the Father for His assurance that His Word has proven
As to Him we confess our sins to be forgiven.
Praying wholeheartedly promises contentment’s fullness.
Thus, we must ask the Holy Spirit for genuine meekness
Submitting to His will, not upheld by self-righteousness
As to Him we cling, staying in His life-building business.
Praying earnestly is truly rewarding.
Thus, we must show humility with gratitude-ascending
Praising the Lord** for His ready safeguarding
As to Him we come, learning from His example of total yielding.
Praying devotedly requires spirited worship.
Thus, we must humble ourselves before the Almighty’s leadership
Growing in grace, enriched in His fellowship
As to Him we draw nigh always toward intimate sweet personal relationship
Praying sincerely brings satisfaction.
Thus we must beg for pure heart and honest intention
Abiding in Christ’s love while surrendering personal ambition
As to Him we cleave, pleasing Him with our joyful dedication.
*1Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
** Luke 11:1And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray....
