Praying Down My Prey

The day I got the fire
My old life expired.
I became inspired
To live for something higher.
Plucked out of the mire
With a new desire
Elevation now has transpired.
Wicked limitations
Hesitations,
And old frustrations
Dwindled away
I entered a new day
A new way
Digesting nations while I pray.
No longer chasing the wind
No longer captivated by my sin
Marching to a beat
This will never allow me to retreat
Waltzing while I walk
With eyes ablaze like a hawk
Praying down my prey,
Praying down my prey,
Salvation is the narrow way.

I like the message and the rhythm of this poem, Sabina. And it contains the powerful truth of prayer. Nice job! :)
