Prayer of a Farmer

O Lord sprinkle clean water on me
With your open hands do me welcome
Free me from all idols
For it is unworthy living among dead souls
Was me clean from everything that defiles
Erase my name from bad books and evil files
In your mercy grant me a new heart and mind
To create me more humane and make me kind
Put your divine spirit afresh in me
And see to it that I take thy laws home
Make me keep your commandments as you wish
Then feed me with your divine bread and fish
Let me be yours and you my God forever
While I deal the land that you gave me since ever
Save from everything that deforms my body
And keep my enemies a distant confused and shoddy
Let my fields grow corn and beans in plenty
While the flowers around bloom and remain scenty
