Prayer For Christmas
That you make me
like the cider tree
with my roots planted
firmly into the soil
while I dive up
into the sun.
So that my leaves
and my branches
are nourished with
the water of the earth.
That the fruit of
my branches give
the most nitrifying
fruits that are
picked by birds
and squirrels.
My shadow falls
down the hill
and grass, becoming
shade to people
the heated creatures.
My branches carry the
nests of bird both from
here and exotic
That I may be you tree
Your tree....
