Prayer

In the name of your Son,whom you sent long ago
In whom i have let go
let go of this world
This world, and its woes

Show me the way I should go
If I should be all I can be
For this boat which I am to row
Might be less sturdy for the sea

Teach me your ways that I might know
The things which thy heart is pleased to see
For if I am to be with you when I go,
Perfect should I be like He.

Tame my tongue, Oh! Lord I plee
For I am a man of unclean lips
If I had my way to see
May I see my days in clips.

Thanks be to thee
For the year whose end is near
But Lord, one thing I plee
That everyone I know might see the new year.
