Prayer
The need of a young one for home
where he will feel sheltered and warm,
not neglected and left free to roam.
The need of a woman to fight
for her right to a job with fair pay,
to persevere with all of her might.
The need of a man to succeed,
to work at his labors until they are done
and to be an example to heed.
The need of the earth for the sun
to brighten and nurture all natural life
'til its pre-ordained cycle is done,
and the need for a nation to find
a system of laws and a body of truths
that will foster the peace of mankind.
