Prayer

A young mother
Desperate for relief
Cries out in the night
A man, about to tip a cup
Begs for forgiveness
Before he gets on the road
A child nurses bruises
With thoughts of hope
And an innocent prayer

...help

Darkness folds away sorrow
Light exposes all the lint
Soil turned over
Yields the rocks
Layered deep within

...hunger

A grandfather closes the door
Leaving legacy in the back forty
For barren moments ahead
A teenage boy leans on a wall
Seeing the prospector approach
As his muscles tighten with dread

...stop

Thank you. Daddy God recently answered both prayers of me and my sister, but in a way that answered neither prayer circumstantially. I am grateful.
