Pray For the Innocent

Sorrowful, yet so angry we hear on the news of
The taking of innocence as she was abducted
Taken and beaten and disposed of, as if in the way

Pure hatred must exist in the heart of the killer
While light and hope existed within her
Somehow threatening his very existence

I pray for her family; may their struggle with answers
Be swift and somehow offer closure to their tormented souls
May they find hope and happiness again in the many days to come

I pray for the killer; may his soul be judged fairly by God
Though, not with cruel intent, but retaliation, I silently wish
That he endures the same pain he caused her and the family

May all who witness anger, hatred, abuse and torment
Be able to pray for a positive outcome and outlook and keep strong
Within the boundaries of faith, for it is easy to strike back with anger
