Notes About The Poem

These verses are inspired by the book, Prashna Upanishad, authored by Guru Bhaktananda.  Prashna means question, that is, questions of earnest seekers on the path. The reflections however do not purport to be a translation and in fact are merely the reactions of this poet, based on his internal spiritual journey. As such, the reader should go through the original text and come to their independent conclusions. 

Prashna Upanishad verse 6:6

Dreams are real when we’re immersed therein,
with concepts offered being of no use
but ceasing to react to thought flow din,
bliss energised stillness becomes heart’s muse.

As in our dreams, likewise it is in life,
viewing body-mind as an interface,
outcomes any, we are always bliss rife,
releasing each sensation we embrace.

No object in view, bliss beats yet renew,
signalling that we are always complete,
that there are no puzzles we need to sew,
having surrendered desire at God’s feet.

Dear soul, dive into heart for a sneak peek,
realising we are he who we seek.
