Notes About The Poem

These verses are inspired by the book, Prashna Upanishad, authored by Guru Bhaktananda.  Prashna means question, that is, questions of earnest seekers on the path. The reflections however do not purport to be a translation and in fact are merely the reactions of this poet, based on his internal spiritual journey. As such, the reader should go through the original text and come to their independent conclusions. 

Prashna Upanishad verse 1:15

“Our heart’s pure intent, divine magnetism does woo ~
The boons of God’s grace can never be taboo”
            ~ quote by poet


The scripture emphasises need for restraint
but do not desire demons appear in dreams
and to live timidly as such is a taint,
for our heart desires to dance among moonbeams.
Of course no doubt we must side step indulgence,
addiction diminishing our effulgence
but that said let’s be a rainbow in full view,
as light of God in heart, whose each hue is new.
