Notes About The Poem

These verses are inspired by the book, Prashna Upanishad, authored by Guru Bhaktananda.  Prashna means question, that is, questions of earnest seekers on the path. The reflections however do not purport to be a translation and in fact are merely the reactions of this poet, based on his internal spiritual journey. As such, the reader should go through the original text and come to their independent conclusions. 

Prashna Upanishad verse 1:13

“A rebel, a nerd, we follow not the herd ~
Gong of Om felt as bliss, is our holy word “

To be a celibate or to celebrate,
former suppression, latter jubilation,
is what the scripture says, determines our fate
but why not dwell in the void of cessation?
Let us flow through this life with nonchalant ease,
mode embrace and release, flowing like the breeze,
with fullness in emptiness being the norm,
invoking divine magnetism, a bliss storm.
